Belfast Buzzes with Fleadh Cheoil: Your Guide to a Jam-Packed Weekend!

Crowds from across the globe and right here in our local communities are soaking up the incredible atmosphere of the world's biggest celebration of Irish music and culture.

Today, as the festival reaches its peak, you can catch the continuation of thrilling All-Ireland competitions, immerse yourself in a packed schedule of street performances and pop-up activities right across the city centre, and discover more Fleadh Fringe events happening in communities city-wide. As evening approaches, the Gig Rig promises a fantastic line-up of performances to keep the music flowing late into the night.

With public transport services experiencing record numbers, it's a good idea to plan your journey if you're heading into the city this afternoon or evening. Organisers are encouraging visitors to make full use of the three official Park and Ride sites available. These are located at the Eikon Exhibition Centre, Giant's Park, and Belfast Harbour.

Using the Park and Ride is straightforward: it costs £10 per vehicle, and you can pay in advance using the RingGo app or on arrival with contactless payment only. Free shuttle buses are running frequently, every ten minutes, providing a convenient link directly into Belfast city centre. If you're enjoying a late night, remember the last shuttle buses back to the Park and Ride sites are at 2am tonight. Shuttles from Grand Central Station will take you back to Eikon, while buses from Laganside Bus Station serve both Belfast Harbour and Giant's Park sites. All three Park and Ride locations are clearly signposted as you approach the city from the M1, M2, and M3 directions.

For those planning to use taxis for their night out, dedicated pick-up and drop-off points are operating around the edge of the pedestrianised event zone. These can be found at Corporation Street, Little Donegall Street, the junction of North Street and Royal Avenue, King Street, Adelaide Street, and Chichester Street. When booking a fare, you'll be advised of your nearest pick-up point. Public hire taxis are also operating as normal from ranks located around the pedestrianised areas.
