A man has been arrested and released on bail following a frightening incident in the Cavehill Road area involving an imitation firearm. Local police are now appealing for witnesses or any available dash cam footage to assist with their ongoing investigation.

Residents in the Cavehill Road area were alerted to a serious incident on Friday evening, March 20, after reports of a man brandishing what appeared to be a firearm. Shortly before 6:25 pm, a vehicle stopped outside a local property where an occupant got out and pointed the weapon at a resident before banging on the front door.
During the disturbance, it was also reported that another individual in the vehicle threw a glass bottle at the house. The vehicle subsequently fled the scene but was later intercepted by police in the Harmin Drive area. Officers later confirmed that the weapon involved was an imitation firearm.
A man in his 40s was taken into custody on suspicion of several offences, including possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, alongside various driving offences. He has since been released on bail as further enquiries continue.
