The Northern Ireland Hotels Federation (NIHF) has launched its 2026 Receptionist Awards, celebrating the dedicated front-of-house teams who create exceptional guest experiences. Nominations are now open for Receptionist of the Year, Most Promising Receptionist, and Reception Team of the Year. It's a fantastic chance to recognise the vital role these individuals play in our local hospitality sector.

Do you know a fantastic hotel receptionist or an incredible front-of-house team? The Northern Ireland Hotels Federation (NIHF) has just launched its highly anticipated Receptionist Awards for 2026, and it's a brilliant opportunity to shine a spotlight on the hospitality stars who make every guest's stay memorable.
These awards are all about celebrating the skill, dedication, and professionalism of reception teams right across Northern Ireland. From the warm welcome to efficient problem-solving, these individuals are truly at the heart of the guest experience, setting the tone for their entire visit. It’s a chance to acknowledge the unsung heroes who work tirelessly to ensure visitors to our beautiful region, and indeed our own city, have the best possible stay.
The competition includes three prestigious categories:
Receptionist of the Year
Most Promising Receptionist
Reception Team of the Year
Vicky Green, President of the Northern Ireland Hotels Federation, highlighted the critical role these teams play. "Reception teams are instrumental in shaping the guest experience, responsible for creating that vital positive first and lasting impression of our destination," she said. "Their blend of professionalism, effective problem-solving, and genuine warmth ensures every interaction truly counts. These awards are a crucial way to recognise the talent, resilience, and commitment of those on the front line of our industry, whose contribution is fundamental to the success and growth of our hotels and wider hospitality sector."
The selection process is rigorous, involving three distinct stages to thoroughly assess the dynamic nature of front-of-house roles. Finalists will then be invited to a special Awards Dinner on Wednesday, 13 May 2026, held at the Armagh City Hotel, where the winners will be announced and celebrated for their outstanding contributions.
