To ensure a pleasant visit for everyone, there are a few important guidelines to keep in mind. When engaging with their services, including their website, visitors agree to adhere to these operational terms.
All ticket sales are final; tickets cannot be transferred, exchanged, or refunded once purchased. For 'Live at the Crum' events, a strict age limit of 18+ applies. Visitors, including those with group or school bookings, should arrive at reception at least 15 minutes before their booked time. Latecomers may only be admitted at the discretion of the management. Please be aware that there is a zero-tolerance policy for Halloween bookings.
aims to be open during its published hours, but reserves the right to close the attraction, or parts of it, without notice due to security or other reasons. In such cases, tickets for the day of closure will be exchanged or refunded, but no further compensation will be provided. If a tour or performance is delayed by circumstances beyond their control, a refund will not be given if it can proceed later that day. Please note that parts of the attraction may occasionally be closed for maintenance or technical reasons, and no refunds or compensation will be offered for such closures. Proof of entitlement for concession tickets (e.g., student ID, OAP, Carer ID) will be required upon entry. Be aware that school groups or private community/commercial bookings may be present during your visit.
Management reserves the right to refuse admission or remove any customer whose behaviour is considered likely to cause offence or nuisance to other visitors or staff, without refund. Visitors must adhere to staff instructions, especially regarding Health & Safety procedures. Damaging or defacing any part of the attraction may lead to prosecution. For safety reasons, visitors may be asked to submit to a search of their person or belongings. Refusal, or possession of dangerous or unsuitable materials, will result in denied entry or removal. Visitors are responsible for their personal belongings; the Gaol accepts no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to items brought into the attraction.
Flash photography, video, and voice recording are strictly prohibited within the tour areas. However, amateur photography without flash is permitted. From time to time, authorised third parties may conduct photography or recording at the attraction, and visitors may be featured in these images. By visiting, you consent to the use of such images for advertising, promotions, or monitoring, with copyright resting with or the authorised third party.
is largely wheelchair accessible, with the exception of the tunnel area and the drop cell, due to the historic nature of the building. Guides will assist wheelchair users to make the most of their visit, and various seating areas are available throughout the Gaol for rest points. Two wheelchairs can be reserved on request by contacting the ticketing office at 028 9074 1500. Accessible toilet facilities with emergency alarms are available in multiple locations, and a printed version of the tour script is available upon request. Hearing dogs are welcome.
The Gaol is accessible via Crumlin Road, with reception located at the front. The reception area, café, gift shop, and museum are all on ground level. Free coach and car parking are available on-site from 8 am to 6 pm daily, accessed via Cliftonpark Avenue (taking a second right at Summer Street for the car park). For larger evening events, the car park may also be open, offering up to 100 spaces. Value Cab, their taxi partner (028 9080 9080), offers accessible vehicles and can drop visitors at the main entrance.
