Get Ready to Explore! Culture Night Belfast Returns This September

Culture Night Belfast is back on Friday, September 18th, 2026, from 4pm to 10pm, and it’s set to be an incredible celebration of our city’s creativity and spirit! Following a summer of cultural highlights, including Belfast’s first Fleadh Cheoil, this year’s Culture Night aims to keep the momentum going with a fantastic array of free and family-friendly events.

With over 200 different activities planned across Belfast, this is your chance to see the city in a new light. Public spaces and popular venues will be transformed into vibrant hubs of discovery, creativity, and connection. The theme for this year is "Be a City Explorer," inviting everyone to step out, discover something new, and experience all that Belfast has to offer.

Local leaders are thrilled to support this vital part of Belfast's cultural calendar, highlighting its role in bringing communities, visitors, and people of all ages together. It’s a wonderful opportunity for our diverse communities to share their stories, hopes, and dreams through poetry, song, music, and dance, making culture accessible to everyone.

You'll find something for every taste! Imagine enjoying The Belfast Busking Collective at The Ulster Hall, witnessing large-scale family-friendly illustrated wall art at 2 Royal Avenue, dropping into a poetry session at Native Coffee along the Maritime Mile, or dancing at a SoulTrane Block Party at The Oh Yeah Centre. The Linen Quarter, for instance, is planning over a dozen special activities, from open houses at Vault Artist Studios to a unique 'Wrestling Corner' at Belfast Grand Central Station and a 'Superhero HQ' at HALT.

Many city-wide venues, along with local businesses and community groups, are contributing to this spectacular programme. The event is a true reflection of how our city’s rich and diverse cultural heritage can shine when given the opportunity and support.
