Belfast City Hall will once again open its doors for the annual Day of Reflection on Sunday 21 June, inviting residents from North Belfast and across the city to come together. This important event provides a dedicated space for people and communities to acknowledge the deep hurt and pain caused by the conflict in and about Northern Ireland.
From 11am to 1pm, a thoughtful programme of activities will be offered, encouraging quiet reflection. Attendees can experience a short film from the local organisation Healing Through Remembering, enjoy powerful prose and poetry, and contribute to a unique 'Thought Tree' – a place where individuals can share their hopes for the future of our city and beyond.
The event is designed to be accessible to everyone, with no booking required. All are welcome to attend and participate in a way that feels personal and meaningful to them. This annual gathering is a commitment from our city's leaders to provide a quiet, safe environment for remembrance and reflection.
Adding to the solemn atmosphere, City Hall will be beautifully illuminated in yellow on the evening of Sunday 21 June, serving as a poignant visual reminder of the day's purpose and the ongoing journey towards peace and understanding.
