Belfast is buzzing with excitement as we prepare to host Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann for the very first time this summer! From Sunday, August 2nd to Sunday, August 9th, our city will transform into a vibrant hub of Irish music, dance, and culture, with the event set to return again in 2027. We're expecting around 800,000 visitors from across Ireland and further afield, all eager to soak up the atmosphere, enjoy competitions, and experience the best of traditional arts.
To ensure everyone visiting has a fantastic time, Belfast's accommodation and hospitality providers are ready to extend a warm welcome. You'll find a huge variety of places to stay, with over 3,600 options already listed on the official Fleadh Cheoil website (fleadhcheoil.ie/accommodation). Whether you're looking for a luxury hotel for a city break, a budget-friendly option, self-catering facilities perfect for families, student accommodation for groups, or a charming B&B in one of our local neighbourhoods, there's something to suit every taste and budget.
For those who love the traditional Fleadh experience of camping, we have exciting news! Official Fleadh campsites have been confirmed to cater for different styles of travel. The Titanic Quarter will host camper van and caravan facilities, offering a unique stay in one of Belfast's most iconic locations. If you prefer traditional tent camping, you can set up at Ormeau Park in south Belfast or Falls Park in west Belfast.
All three official campsites are designed to provide visitors with space, comfort, and convenient access to the city centre, where the main Fleadh activities will take place. Each location will include essential amenities like toilet, shower, and parking facilities, alongside food vendors, bar facilities, dedicated support staff, and 24-hour security, ensuring a safe and enjoyable stay.
Booking for all three official Fleadh campsites opens soon, on Monday, June 1st, at 12 noon via fleadhcheoil.ie/camping. Demand is expected to be high, and capacity is limited, so we strongly advise booking early on June 1st to secure your spot. Make sure to check the website for full details on what's needed to book, facilities, services, and costs. If you need parking at Ormeau or Falls Park, remember that package options are available, but it's essential to include it at the time of your booking.
One of Belfast's greatest strengths is how compact and easy it is to navigate. Wherever visitors choose to stay, they'll be close to the action, with excellent public transport links and walkable access to all the venues and events. This incredible event is part of wider preparations across the city, bringing together competitions, concerts, céilís, street performances, and cultural experiences. Details regarding traffic and transport arrangements will be announced in June, and all attendees are encouraged to follow official event travel guidance.
