Belfast is gearing up to host Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann this August, and with over 800,000 visitors expected, a comprehensive Park and Ride network is being put in place. This guide provides essential information for residents and visitors on how to navigate the city and access the festival easily.

Get ready, North Belfast! The vibrant sounds of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann are set to fill our city this August, promising an unforgettable cultural experience. From Sunday 2 to Sunday 9 August 2026, Belfast will welcome an estimated 800,000 visitors, and to ensure everyone can enjoy the festivities smoothly, a dedicated Park and Ride network will be in operation.
To help keep the city moving and provide easy access to over 200 Fleadh events, three official Park and Ride sites have been established. These secure parking facilities are located just outside the city centre at the Eikon Exhibition Centre (conveniently near the M1), Giant's Park (close to the M2), and Belfast Harbour (easily accessible from the M3). Real-time signage will guide you upon arrival.
Once you've parked, a free, fully accessible shuttle bus service will whisk you straight to Belfast's main transport hubs. From there, it's just a short walk to the main pedestrianised event zone, allowing you to dive into the heart of the Fleadh action.
Parking costs £10 per vehicle, per day, with an additional 10p convenience fee if you book online. You can secure your spot in advance using the RingGo website or app – simply create an account, and your vehicle registration will be scanned on arrival. Full booking instructions are available on the Fleadh Cheoil website (fleadhcheoil.ie/travel). If you prefer, you can also pay on the day using contactless payment machines, though spaces will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
It's worth noting that Eikon Exhibition Centre and Belfast Harbour offer both single-day and multi-day parking options, while Giant's Park operates as a day-parking facility only.
The shuttle buses are designed to make your journey seamless. Services from Eikon Exhibition Centre will drop passengers at Grand Central Station, while buses from both Giant's Park and Belfast Harbour will arrive at Laganside Bus Station. They start early to accommodate both commuters and festival-goers, with first departures from 7:30 am each day across all three sites. The only exception is on Sunday 2 August at Eikon Exhibition Centre, where the first service begins at 10 am. Frequency will increase from every 15 minutes to every 10 minutes during peak times.
For your peace of mind, all three Park and Ride sites will have 24-hour security presence, and designated Blue Badge parking areas will be available close to the shuttle bus stops. Return shuttles will run at regular intervals until 2 am on Sunday 2 August, 12 am from Monday 3 to Wednesday 5 August, and 2 am from Thursday 6 to Sunday 9 August.
This extensive Park and Ride system is part of a larger transport plan to create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone in Belfast, including our North Belfast residents, local businesses, city centre workers, and all Fleadh visitors. We encourage everyone to plan their journeys in advance and allow extra time, especially during peak festival periods.
