Havana Court Security Alert Causes Early Morning Disruption in North Belfast

The serious incident caused major disruption for residents, who were forced to leave their homes temporarily for safety. Community representatives have strongly condemned the event, calling the disruption 'totally unacceptable'.

The North Belfast community experienced significant disruption in the early hours of Monday morning following a security alert centered on Havana Court. Police confirmed that several homes in the area were evacuated due to the discovery of a suspicious object.

Authorities have stated that the object was reportedly found positioned underneath a car. Due to the nature of the find, the police immediately asked members of the public and road users to avoid Havana Court to ensure public safety while the situation was dealt with.

Local Councillor Paul McCusker addressed the incident, highlighting the severity of the impact on residents. “This has caused serious disruption in the community and I hope that residents are able to return to their homes as soon as possible,” he said. “I have been speaking to police and council throughout the night. It is totally unacceptable that these incidents are still happening.”

The priority throughout the early morning operation was the safety and swift return of local residents to their properties.
