Local businesses and residents near the Crumlin Road have been evacuated this afternoon, Friday 29th May, following a suspected gas leak at the Hillview Retail Park. Emergency services, alongside gas technicians, arrived quickly on the scene to secure the area and ensure everyone's safety.
To allow emergency crews to work safely, the PSNI has closed Flax Street and Ardoyne Avenue to all motorists. Nearby residents in the immediate vicinity have also been asked to leave their homes temporarily as a precautionary measure while the situation is being resolved.
Our local community is being strongly advised to avoid the Hillview Retail Park and surrounding streets for the time being. We hope everyone stays safe, and we appreciate the swift action of our emergency services and gas technicians working to resolve the issue quickly.
