Great news for a local Belfast business! Brown O’Connor Communications, a well-known firm specialising in public affairs and strategic communications right here in our city, has announced a significant expansion by opening a new office in Dublin. This exciting development means the company will now be known as Brown O’Connor Ireland, reflecting its commitment to providing services across the entire island.
While their new base is on Merrion Square in Dublin, the team's long-standing Belfast office on Adelaide Street will remain a central hub. Established in 2017 by local directors Chris Brown and Arlene O’Connor, the firm has built a strong reputation for helping businesses and organisations navigate complex political, regulatory, and media landscapes. They offer vital services like public affairs, media relations, crisis management, and litigation communications, all from a single, experienced team.
This strategic move comes as a direct response to a growing demand from clients who operate on both sides of the border. Chris Brown, Director at Brown O’Connor Ireland, shared his enthusiasm: “Investing in our new Dublin office has been an ambition for some time and is a natural next step for us. We've seen a significant increase in clients needing support across the island, and a permanent presence in Dublin allows us to offer more responsive, local guidance.”
The firm has experienced remarkable growth recently, with an increase of over 30% in the past year. This success is set to continue, with plans for new roles to be created in both their Dublin and Belfast offices over the coming year.
Arlene O’Connor, also a Director, emphasised the local commitment: “There’s a clear need for more all-island support, and this expansion ensures we continue to deliver the high-quality insight and strategic thinking our clients rely on. Our work in Belfast and wider Northern Ireland remains a core focus, and our new Dublin office only strengthens our team’s ability to provide the best advice and expertise right here at home.”
This expansion showcases the strength and ambition of a Belfast-rooted business, continuing to grow while keeping its local ties strong.
