Great news for Belfast as a local talent steps up to lead a groundbreaking new residential development! Neil Allen, a Belfast native with a decade of experience in operations and customer service, has been appointed as the General Manager for Loftlines – an exciting new Build-to-Rent neighbourhood taking shape in our city's vibrant Titanic Quarter.
Neil will be at the helm of Loftlines' day-to-day operations, overseeing the on-site team, managing resident services, and fostering local partnerships. This development is truly a first for Belfast, offering 627 purpose-built rental homes designed with community living in mind. We can expect the first residents to move into their new homes by Summer 2026.
Designed specifically for modern renters, Loftlines will be pet-friendly and provide both furnished and unfurnished options, with broadband included as standard. But it's not just about the apartments; residents will have access to fantastic amenities like co-working spaces, a fully-equipped gym, private dining rooms, comfortable lounges, and beautiful landscaped roof terraces – all professionally managed by Neil and his dedicated team.
Speaking about his new role, Neil shared his passion: 'Loftlines is bringing something genuinely new to Belfast’s rental market. As a Belfast native, I am deeply passionate about being part of something that contributes to the city’s positive future, I’m proud to call it home and hope others can also build a sense of belonging.' He highlighted that this style of rental living, popular in cities worldwide, offers flexibility without sacrificing stability or a sense of community. It's about giving people a place to put down roots for as long as they like, with professional management and excellent facilities.
This significant project is funded by Legal & General, investing £150 million into the Build-to-Rent homes as part of a larger £175 million residential scheme, in partnership with Watkin Jones, Lacuna Developments, and Clanmil Housing Association. Legal & General's Senior Asset Manager, James Hart, echoed the sentiment, stating that Loftlines 'aims to challenge the inconveniences of renting and giving renters a professionally managed, flexible and convenient choice in excellent city centre locations where they can put down roots for as long as they like.'
Beyond his leadership at Loftlines, Neil is also a trustee of Beyond Skin, a Belfast-based social enterprise promoting peace through music, and an Executive Director of the Northern Ireland Developers Conference. His commitment to the community aligns perfectly with the vision for Loftlines, which promises to become a vibrant new neighbourhood, adding to the rich tapestry of Belfast city living.
