Local police have confirmed they seized a significant quantity of items, including cash and suspected drugs, during a property search in North Belfast connected to ongoing investigations into paramilitary activity.
The operation took place on Wednesday, December 3, as part of enquiries into suspected criminality linked to the West Belfast UDA. Officers recovered a large sum of cash, a quantity of suspected Class C controlled drugs, tobacco, and electronic devices during the search. These items will now undergo forensic examination as police enquiries continue.
Detective Inspector Maguire confirmed that the successful operation required close collaboration across several specialist teams, including the Tactical Support Group (TSG), the Dog Unit, the Auto Crime Team, and the Paramilitary Crime Task Force.
"This search demonstrates our unwavering commitment to tackling all forms of criminality linked to paramilitaries in our area," DI Maguire stated. "We rely heavily on the support of the community, and we want to thank residents for continuing to provide us with information. We will continue to act on the intelligence you provide."
