A Dromara Street resident, Lisa Molloy, was sentenced at Belfast Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 31st March 2026, after being found guilty of offences related to a dog attack. The court heard details of an incident where three of her dogs attacked a person, causing injuries.
The incident took place on Rutland Street on 22nd April 2025, where three French Bulldog type dogs, owned by Ms Molloy, were reportedly off their leads in public. A person was unfortunately attacked, sustaining injuries to their arms and legs.
Ms Molloy had previously been convicted under Article 29(2) of The Dogs (Northern Ireland) Order 1983, which addresses dog attacks on individuals. For these offences, she received a 3-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months. Additionally, she was ordered to pay £100 in compensation to the victim and cover £128 in legal and court costs.
