Our local community is a safer place this week following a major two-week police operation in North Belfast that successfully removed dangerous weapons and drugs from our streets. Officers carried out 10 separate searches across the area, resulting in the recovery of firearms, ammunition, and a significant quantity of illegal substances.
During the proactive operation, police seized an estimated £15,000 worth of suspected cocaine and crystal meth, alongside £2,000 of cannabis vapes. In addition to the drugs and weapons, officers confiscated approximately £85,000 in assets, including cars, cash, and other high-value items. Three men have been arrested in connection with the searches, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Speaking about the successful operation, Inspector Matthew Adams emphasized the commitment of local officers to protecting North Belfast residents. He stated that disrupting organised crime and drug supply remains a top priority, warning dealers that there is "no safe place" for them in our community.
