A 48-year-old man has been arrested following an early morning knifepoint robbery at a North Belfast service station on Wednesday. The suspect allegedly threatened a staff member and fled with cash and goods. Police are appealing for witnesses and CCTV footage to assist with their ongoing investigation.

Police have arrested a 48-year-old man following an early morning robbery at a service station in North Belfast.
The incident took place shortly after 6am on Wednesday, August 19, when an individual armed with a knife entered the local commercial premises. The male ordered a female staff member to open the till before making off with a sum of money and several other items. Thankfully, the staff member was not physically injured during the distressing encounter.
Officers subsequently detained a 48-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and possession of a blade or point. He currently remains in custody for questioning.
Local police are reaching out to the community for any information that could help their enquiries. Anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident, noticed any suspicious activity, or possesses CCTV footage is urged to contact officers on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 179 19/08/26.
