A 41-year-old man has been charged with murder following an incident in North Belfast that tragically resulted in the death of 44-year-old local man Paul Mackin Junior.
Police launched a murder investigation after responding to reports of an assault at a residential address in the Duncairn Parade area on Monday. Mr Mackin was taken to hospital following the incident, where he sadly passed away on Wednesday.
Detectives subsequently arrested and charged the suspect with murder, grievous bodily harm with intent, and false imprisonment. He is set to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
A police spokesperson confirmed that a full report detailing these charges and a number of other alleged offences will be submitted to the Public Prosecution Service for standard legal review.
