A 27-year-old man is set to appear in court next month following police searches in North Belfast. The arrest was made by detectives investigating drug criminality linked to the New IRA. He faces several drug-related charges, including possession and supply.

A 27-year-old man is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates' Court next month following a police operation in North Belfast. The arrest took place on Wednesday, 15th July 2026, after detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Serious Crime Branch carried out proactive searches in the local area.
The searches were part of an ongoing investigation into drug criminality linked to the New IRA. Following his arrest, the man was charged with several drug-related offences, including being concerned in the supply of a Class A controlled drug, possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply, and being concerned in the supply of a Class B controlled drug.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, 12th August 2026. As is standard procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service. Local residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to help keep our North Belfast community safe.
