A 40-year-old man has been charged following police reports of an individual armed with a machete near Peter’s Hill. He is scheduled to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court in May.

A 40-year-old man has been charged following an incident that occurred in the Peter’s Hill area on Thursday, April 9th. Local police were called to the scene on the edge of North Belfast during the afternoon following reports of a man seen with a machete.
The individual faces several charges, including the possession of an article with a blade or point in a public place and a charge of simple drunk. The prompt response by officers highlights ongoing efforts to maintain safety in our local neighborhoods and the surrounding city centre area.
The man is expected to appear before the Belfast Magistrates Court on May 8th, 2026. As per standard legal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service ahead of the court date.
