The suspect is scheduled to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court as community representatives reach out to support the victim and her family.

A 40-year-old man has been charged with a series of serious offences following an incident in North Belfast where a woman was allegedly held against her will and assaulted over the course of several days.
It is reported that the victim managed to escape on Monday, 24 August, after being detained at a property in the Oldpark area. Following an investigation by the Police Service of Northern Ireland, the man was detained and charged with multiple offences.
The individual has also been charged in connection with three counts of burglary committed across North Belfast.
The incident has caused deep concern across the local community. Independent Councillor Paul McCusker expressed his shock and sorrow regarding the situation, confirming that he has reached out to assist those affected. Councillor McCusker stated that he has been in contact with the victim's family, police, and Community Restorative Justice (CRJ), affirming his commitment to providing ongoing support to the woman and her loved ones.
The accused is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 26 August, where all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service as part of the standard legal process.
