A 40-year-old man has appeared at Belfast Magistrates' Court facing a series of serious charges connected to incidents alleged to have occurred in North Belfast.
Jonathon White, of Dismas House Hostel, appeared in the dock on Wednesday, August 26, where he faced nine separate charges. The charges relate to incidents reported to have taken place over a five-day period between August 20 and August 24.
The charges against White include three counts of rape, grievous bodily harm with intent, false imprisonment, sexual assault, domestic abuse, and possession of an offensive weapon. During the court appearance, a police constable confirmed that officers could connect the accused to all nine charges.
The court was also informed that White is likely to face additional charges of threats to kill. In addition, he faces three counts of burglary relating to a separate case.
No application for bail was submitted during the hearing, and no further details regarding the circumstances were disclosed to the court. White was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court again on Wednesday, September 23.
