A man has appeared at Laganside Court facing a murder charge following the death of North Belfast resident Paul Mackin Junior.
Thomas McCauley, 41, of Queens Parade, Belfast, appeared in court on Friday. In addition to the murder charge, McCauley faces charges of false imprisonment and grievous bodily harm against two separate women.
The charges follow an incident in the Duncairn Parade area of North Belfast earlier in the week. Police responded to reports of an assault at a local property on Monday. Sadly, Mr Mackin passed away in hospital on Wednesday, July 22.
During the court hearing, McCauley was asked if he understood the charges against him, and a PSNI officer confirmed she could connect the accused to all charges. No application for bail was made, and McCauley was remanded into custody for four weeks. He is due to appear before the court again on August 21.
