Great news for the Northern Ireland economy! An Armagh-based customs compliance firm, Allied Fleet Services, has announced a significant £500,000 investment that will lead to the creation of 15 new jobs. This positive development highlights growth and opportunity within our local business community.
The company, founded in 2017, is also undergoing a major rebrand, changing its name to Allied Group. This reflects its evolution into a multi-service customs, compliance, and logistics support provider, expanding its reach across the UK, Ireland, Europe, and even India. As part of this expansion, Allied Group has moved into new, state-of-the-art headquarters at Edenaveys Industrial Estate in Armagh and launched a new website to showcase its broadened offerings.
This substantial investment comes on the back of impressive growth, with the business seeing a 45% increase in revenue in 2024 and a further 12% rise in 2025. Their workforce has also grown from 15 employees in 2024 to 21 in 2025. This success is largely due to the rising demand for expert support in navigating the complexities of cross-border trade, particularly for businesses trading in and from Northern Ireland. Their diverse client base includes everyone from private individuals to large manufacturers, FMCG firms, transportation operators, and healthcare providers.
Under the new Allied Group structure, core services are brought together under three specialist divisions: Allied Customs, focusing on expert customs clearance; Allied Freight, offering end-to-end logistics solutions; and Allied CBAM, which specifically helps businesses prepare for the introduction of the new EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism.
Stephen McAneney, Founder and Director of Allied Group, expressed his enthusiasm for this major milestone. “This investment represents a major milestone for our organisation and reflects the significant growth we have achieved in recent years,” he said. He emphasized that the new jobs, larger headquarters, and expanded services will enhance their capacity to support more customers efficiently in an increasingly complex regulatory environment. Mr. McAneney added that their focus remains on anticipating customer challenges and delivering practical, compliant solutions, particularly as new regulations like CBAM come into force, ensuring businesses can trade confidently and without disruption.
The introduction of Allied CBAM is a direct response to growing uncertainty in the market, offering businesses clear guidance as new EU carbon reporting obligations take effect. This division aims to help importers avoid stringent disclosure requirements, increased audit scrutiny, and potential financial penalties by providing essential regulatory expertise.
