North Belfast MLA Phillip Brett has confirmed he 'won't be intimidated' following a serious and distressing incident—an alleged attempted break-in—at his family home last Saturday evening, December 27, 2025.
Mr. Brett, the DUP representative for the area, stated that the incident occurred shortly after 8pm and stressed that the situation put his family at risk. Following the event, he took to social media to provide details and appeal for local assistance.
He released images online showing two men in green clothing who were captured on the driveway of the property.
In his statement, the MLA reaffirmed his dedication to the community: "Serving the people of North Belfast has always come first for me — and it always will."
Mr. Brett issued a strong message against those involved, asserting that "Intimidation will never stop me doing my job."
The MLA is urging residents to check their footage if they were in the area at the time. Anyone who can identify the individuals involved, or who possesses relevant CCTV, doorbell camera, or dashcam footage from that Saturday evening, is asked to contact the PSNI immediately.
