Our North Belfast community is in deep mourning following the tragic loss of 24-year-old Raven Adams, who was killed in a devastating collision on York Street in the early hours of Thursday, July 16th. Raven, originally from the Tipperary area, was walking home from work at around 2:40 am when she and her colleague, Ethan, were struck by a vehicle.
Raven was a cherished member of the team at local venue The Thirsty Goat. In an emotional tribute, her colleagues expressed their profound sadness, describing Raven as a dedicated worker whose kindness, laughter, and warm smile left an enduring mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside her. To allow her close-knit work family and friends to gather and celebrate her life, The Thirsty Goat will remain closed on Tuesday.
The thoughts and prayers of the entire community are also with Raven's colleague Ethan Dornan, who remains in hospital recovering from injuries sustained in the same incident. The team at The Thirsty Goat and local residents are sending Ethan all their strength and love during this incredibly difficult time.
Raven will be lovingly remembered by her parents Adam and Kelsie, step-mother Lucy, siblings Callum, Jade, Chandi, Julianna, and Aaron, grandparents Mike and Jane Gill, and her wider circle of family, friends, and colleagues in both Dundalk and Belfast. Family and friends can pay their respects at Shevlin's Funeral Home on Barrack Street, Dundalk, on Monday afternoon from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Her celebration of life service will take place on Tuesday, July 21st, at 11:30 am at Dardistown Crematorium in Dublin.
In a touching show of solidarity, a GoFundMe page set up by Ethan Dornan to help Raven's family with the funeral costs has already raised over £5,000 in just 14 hours. The North Belfast community continues to rally around the family, offering comfort and support in the face of this heartbreaking tragedy.
