A planned search by detectives from the Criminal Investigation Department in North Belfast on Friday, 3rd July 2026, has led to the arrest of a man in his 30s. The proactive operation, aimed at tackling drug-dealing and organised criminality in our local area, resulted in the seizure of a significant haul of illicit items.
During the search, local officers and detectives recovered suspected Class A, Class B, and Class C drugs. Alongside the narcotics, police seized a suspected ammunition round, a suspected Taser-type device, a BB-type gun, and various drug-related paraphernalia. All recovered items have been taken away for further forensic examination.
The arrested man remains in police custody. He was detained on suspicion of possessing ammunition in suspicious circumstances, possession of a prohibited weapon, and possession of suspected Class A, B, and C controlled drugs.
Detective Sergeant Robson emphasized that disrupting organised crime and the supply of drugs remains a top policing priority for North Belfast. He highlighted that proactive operations like this demonstrate how vital community information is in taking decisive action to protect local neighbourhoods. The police reiterated their commitment to making North Belfast a hostile environment for those involved in the illegal drug trade, sending a clear message that there is no safe place for drug dealers in our community.
