North Belfast Stands United: Our Community Against Violence and Hate

Our community in North Belfast and across the city stands firm against violence, racism, and hate. We recognise the challenges faced by residents and businesses following recent incidents, but we remain committed to working together to ensure everyone feels safe and supported. Your safety and well-being are our top priority as we build a stronger, united future.

North Belfast, like the rest of our vibrant city, proudly stands united against violence, racism, and hate. We firmly believe there's no place in our beloved city for such division and discord.

We understand the profound impact that Monday's incident here in North Belfast, and last night's disorder in other parts of the city, is having on our residents, local businesses, visitors, and the wider community. However, these incidents do not represent the true spirit of Belfast.

Our city is a safe place, renowned as one of the safest in the UK. Belfast has faced tough times before, but each time, we have come together, showing incredible resilience to build a better future – a future we all want to protect for ourselves and generations to come.

The safety and well-being of every person who calls Belfast home is paramount. We are actively working alongside our city partners and local community organisations to ensure that all residents and families affected by recent events receive the support they need during this challenging period.

While organisations, including our local services, face difficult decisions in balancing staff welfare with the need to maintain vital services, we want to be absolutely clear: disorder on our streets helps no one. It causes real harm to individual lives, damages our local communities and businesses, and impacts our city's reputation.

We all share this wonderful city as our home. We urge everyone to show the very best of Belfast by uniting behind, and sharing, this message of peace, solidarity, and community. Let's work together to safeguard the positive future we are all building.

Information for Residents:

Due to the suspension of public transport services this evening, please be aware that many local council services will not be operating tonight. Some venues, managed on our behalf by local organisations, may be open as normal – we encourage you to check with them directly before travelling. We are continuously reviewing operations, and any further updates will be shared promptly on our website and social media channels.
