The iconic Odyssey Trust, a cornerstone of local entertainment and education, has just announced an exciting new partnership with Weev, a local electric vehicle (EV) charging provider. This collaboration brings convenient new EV charging infrastructure to the Odyssey's Lagan-side car park, offering visitors a greener way to power their vehicles while enjoying everything the complex has to offer.
As part of this initiative, Weev has installed two 22kW AC chargers, providing a total of four charging points. Each socket delivers a maximum charging speed of 11kW, making it efficient for drivers. Accessing the service is straightforward through the My Weev app, a My Weev fob, or simply by using contactless payment directly at the charging point.
Craig Barrington, Associate Director of Estates and Facilities at The Odyssey Trust, highlighted the importance of this step. "This partnership with Weev is all about making steady, practical progress," he stated. "As an organisation deeply committed to sustainability, we're focused on collaborating with local partners to support greener choices across the entire Odyssey site. Introducing EV charging is another small but vital step on that journey." This commitment is also reflected in the Belfast Giants' ongoing relationship with Agnew Belfast Volvo, providing players and coaches with electric Volvo EX30 and EX40 vehicles, embedding sustainability throughout the organisation's operations.
Thomas O’Hagan, Co-Founder of Weev, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, saying, "It's fantastic to partner with Odyssey, one of the most visited education and entertainment complexes in Ireland, to install Weev EV chargers. With multiple chargers now onsite, drivers can charge with confidence and fully enjoy the wide array of facilities the site provides."
Local residents and visitors can now take full advantage of these new EV charging points in Odyssey’s riverside car park. It’s a positive step forward for sustainable transport in our city and offers a practical solution for electric vehicle owners.
