Pizza Crew is offering 300 free 'Pizza Hero' workshops for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) at their Lisburn and Andersonstown Road stores. These engaging sessions provide a unique, hands-on experience in a real pizza kitchen, helping children build confidence and enjoy a fun, sensory activity. The initiative, championed by founder Ciaran Kelly, is a heartfelt way to give back to the special education community.

Great news for local schools and families! Pizza Crew has launched its fantastic 'Pizza Hero' Workshops, offering 300 free places for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across Northern Ireland. These unique sessions provide a fun, confidence-boosting experience specifically designed for special schools and SEN units.
Launching on National Pizza Day (Monday, February 9th), these 15 workshops in 2026 will take place at Pizza Crew’s Lisburn and Andersonstown Road stores. Children will get the exciting opportunity to step into a real pizza kitchen, getting hands-on with dough and ingredients in a vibrant, sensory environment. It’s all about participation, routine, and the wonderful feeling of achievement as they create their own delicious pizza.
Ciaran Kelly, founder of Pizza Crew and a World Pizza Champion, brings a deep personal commitment to this initiative. He shared, 'I’ve been running these workshops for years, and over 3,000 children with special educational needs have already taken part. For many, it’s the change of environment, the sensory experience, and the sense of pride in seeing something they made come out of the oven. It's truly joyful and one of the best parts of my job.' Ciaran's dedication is rooted in his personal story, offering these experiences in memory of his infant son, Zak, and giving back to the specialist education community.
Schools are often under pressure with stretched SEN budgets, making these completely free workshops even more valuable. Special schools and SEN units interested in registering for one of the 15 'Pizza Hero' Workshops can apply by emailing [email protected]. Priority will be given to schools that haven't participated before, where possible, based on eligibility and scheduling.
