Police are appealing for information following an incident on Cupar Way in North Belfast on Thursday evening, 29th October, which left a local man shaken.
Officers received a report at around 5:30pm that a man in his 50s had been out walking when a car pulled up alongside him. A male then got out of the vehicle, approached him, and attempted to grab him.
The car fled the scene towards the Lanark Way area after the driver was challenged by another motorist. While the pedestrian was not physically injured, he was left understandably shaken by the ordeal.
Detective Sergeant Faulkner confirmed that enquiries into the incident are continuing and urged anyone who may have witnessed what happened to come forward. Investigators are particularly keen to speak with anyone who has CCTV, dashcam, or other footage from the Cupar Way and Lanark Way areas around that time.
Anyone with information that could assist enquiries is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference 1374 29/10/26, or submit a report online via the PSNI witness appeal page. Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.
