Police respond to report of men 'attacking each other with weapons' The Police Ombudsman’s Office has been informed of the incident 12:17, 05 Jun 2026 Updated 12:23, 05 Jun 2026 An investigation is ongoing after police responded to reports of two men 'attacking each other with weapons' in flats in Belfast. Officers were called to the alleged incident in the communal area of flats in the Crumlin Road area of north Belfast in the early hours of Friday, June 5. Detectives are now appealing for information following the report of the 'serious altercation'. A PSNI spokesman said: "Shortly after midnight, officers received a report of two men attacking each other with weapons at Brookfield Mill flats and upon arrival at the scene located a male armed with a knife and with an injury to his head. The man, aged 44, was brought under control after officers deployed a Conducted Energy Device and arrested on suspicion of possession of a blade or point in a public place, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, assault and disorderly behaviour. "A second man, aged 46, was arrested shortly afterwards on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. Both men remain in police custody at this time. As is normal procedure the Police Ombudsman’s Office has been informed of the incident.
