Residents in the Old Park area saw significant police activity this Tuesday, March 10, as detectives from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force (PCTF) carried out planned searches at three local properties. These actions were conducted as part of an ongoing investigation into criminal activities linked to the West Belfast UDA.
During the operation, officers recovered suspected Class A and Class B controlled drugs, along with drug-related paraphernalia and suspected Class B edibles. In addition to the illegal substances, a quantity of cash and tobacco were also seized. All items have been taken away for further forensic examination to assist with the investigation.
Three individuals were taken into custody following the searches. A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class B controlled drug and possession with intent to supply. Additionally, a 39-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of several offences, including possession and intent to supply both Class A and Class B drugs, possessing criminal property, and evading excise duty and VAT. All three suspects remain in police custody at this time.
