The lucky pair has secured a magnificent luxury wedding package worth up to £10,000, setting the stage for their dream celebration in 2027.

It’s fantastic news for County Antrim couple Emma Agnew and Ben Glass from Portglenone, who are celebrating a dream come true after winning Roe Valley Resort’s highly sought-after ‘Win a Wedding’ competition. The lucky pair has secured a magnificent luxury wedding package worth up to £10,000 at the stunning Limavady hotel and wedding venue.

The award-winning Roe Valley Resort, nestled on a picturesque 150-acre estate beside Roe Valley Country Park, offers an enchanting backdrop for weddings. Its mature woodlands, tranquil riverside walks, and sweeping parkland views promise breathtaking photography and unforgettable celebrations. The resort’s historic Georgian building adds a touch of regency romance, creating a sophisticated and unique setting for couples like Emma and Ben, whose love story is deeply rooted in family and shared experiences.

Emma and Ben’s journey began in 2017 at an unconventional Christmas work night out. "For me, it was love at first sight," Ben recalled with a laugh, "Emma took a little more convincing." They officially became a couple in 2023, and Ben popped the question during a long-awaited trip to Nashville and Las Vegas – a dream for the avid country music fans. Despite a frantic dash back to the hotel for the forgotten ring, the proposal was unforgettable, meticulously planned with a local coordinator. Emma was completely surprised to arrive at what she thought was a theatre show, only to see giant rooftop marquee letters spelling out 'Marry Me'.

Roe Valley Resort held a special significance for the couple long before the competition. Emma explained, "Ben’s grandmother worked in the old house at the resort, and his mum’s family are from the nearby village of Ballykelly, so choosing Roe Valley felt incredibly personal." They also appreciated the convenience of a "one-stop venue" where all their guests could stay together, simplifying the planning process for their 2027 wedding.

Finding out they had won was an emotional and surprising moment. "When Roe Valley rang, I assumed it was bad news about the date we had in mind, or a payment request," Ben admitted. "I rang back with my debit card ready – and instead was told we’d won. I genuinely thought it was a prank." After several missed calls, Emma finally heard the good news. "All we could do was scream down the phone at each other," she added. "It honestly feels like it was meant to be."

With their date now secured, Emma and Ben have already dived into planning, booking their humanist celebrant, photographer, videographer, DJ, florist, and hair and makeup team. Their vision for the big day is "traditional with a contemporary sense of sophistication" – aiming for a simple, elegant, classy, and meaningful celebration. While every moment is anticipated, Emma is most looking forward to walking down the aisle, and Ben is eagerly awaiting their first look.

For other couples embarking on their wedding journey, Emma and Ben wholeheartedly advise starting your planning early.
