A security alert is currently underway in the Rosapenna Parade area of North Belfast following a police search of a property in the early hours of Friday, 17th July. To ensure public safety, officers have evacuated several surrounding properties while enquiries continue at the scene.
For residents who have been displaced, the Ardoyne Community Centre has been opened as a rest centre. Local Independent Councillor Paul McCusker has reached out to offer support, advising anyone in need of assistance to get in touch, and expressing hope that those affected can return to their homes as quickly as possible.
Cordons are currently in place, and locals are asked to avoid the Rosapenna Street and Cliftonville Road areas. Significant traffic disruption is expected on Cliftonville Road this morning, so please plan an alternative route for your morning journey if possible.
Police have thanked the community for their cooperation during this disruption, emphasizing that public safety remains the top priority. We will share further updates with our North Belfast neighbors as soon as they become available.
