A security alert in the Rosapenna Parade area of North Belfast has resolved after police completed a house search, leading to the arrest of a 28-year-old man. Residents who were temporarily evacuated have returned home safely. Police have seized suspected firearms, ammunition, Class A drugs, and cash, and are appealing to the community for any information.

A security alert in the Rosapenna Parade area of North Belfast ended safely on Friday, 17th July, after a police search of a local property. A number of nearby homes had to be temporarily evacuated in the early hours of Friday morning as a safety precaution. Thankfully, local residents were able to return to their homes just a few hours later while officers continued their work at the scene.
Following the search, police recovered suspected firearms, ammunition, Class A drugs, and a sum of cash. A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of several offences, including possession of a Class A controlled drug with intent to supply, possessing a firearm and ammunition in suspicious circumstances, and possessing ammunition without a certificate. He has since been released on bail while further police enquiries continue.
