A security alert is currently ongoing in North Belfast following a police search of a property during the early hours of Friday morning, July 17, 2026. Properties in Rosapenna Parade and the surrounding streets are currently being evacuated to ensure everyone's safety while officers deal with the situation.
In true North Belfast spirit, the local community has quickly stepped up to support those affected. The Ardoyne Community Centre has been opened as a temporary rest shelter, providing a warm and safe space for evacuated residents as the situation continues to unfold.
Cordons are currently in place around the area. Local residents and commuters are asked to avoid Rosapenna Street and the Cliftonville Road for the time being. Significant traffic disruption is expected on the Cliftonville Road throughout the morning, so please plan ahead and seek alternative routes for your journeys.
