A serious road traffic collision has occurred in the York Street area of North Belfast this morning, Thursday, July 16. Emergency services and police are currently at the scene managing the situation. Local representatives have expressed their deep concern regarding the incident and have indicated that road closures are likely to remain in place for some time.
To allow emergency services to work safely, several key roads in our area have been closed. Currently, the closures affect the area between Limestone Road and North Queen Street, as well as Mountcollyer Avenue and York Street on either side of these junctions. Additionally, York Street at the junction of Limestone Road is fully closed.
For those using public transport, Translink has confirmed that Metro services are being diverted. Buses will be using Brougham Street and North Queen Street in both directions until further notice. Commuters and local drivers are strongly advised to plan ahead, expect delays, and seek alternative routes for their journeys today.
