A local court has remanded a Newtownabbey man in custody following a serious incident that took place on the Shore Road in North Belfast. Greg McCullough, 32, of Wynthorpe Grove, appeared before Belfast Magistrates' Court on Thursday, June 18, following his arrest.
The charges stem from an incident on Tuesday, June 16, at a residential property on the Shore Road. Mr. McCullough is accused of aggravated burglary and causing grievous bodily harm to a female resident by attacking her with a hammer inside her home. Additionally, he faces charges of possessing Class C drugs and assaulting two police officers during the police response.
Following his court appearance, the 32-year-old was remanded in custody. He is scheduled to appear in court again on July 16. As a community, our thoughts are with the victim as she recovers from this distressing event, and we thank our local emergency services for their swift action.
