Three Arrested After £60,000 Drug Seizure in Hopewell Avenue

Police operations in North Belfast have led to the seizure of around £60,000 worth of suspected Class A drugs and three arrests following a proactive search operation.

Officers from the PSNI Organised Crime Branch searched two vehicles in the Hopewell Avenue area at approximately 9.30pm on Tuesday, 21st July. Along with the large haul of suspected Class A controlled drugs, officers also recovered a small quantity of suspected Class B drugs and mobile phones during the operation, which followed searches linked to local properties.

Two 20-year-old men and a 24-year-old woman were arrested at the scene. They were taken into police custody on suspicion of offences including possession of a Class A controlled drug with intent to supply, as well as being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs. All three individuals remain in custody while investigations proceed.

Highlighting the ongoing commitment to keeping local streets safe, Detective Sergeant Conlan reiterated that police will remain relentless in tackling the illegal drug trade and investigating those who profit from the harm caused to the community. He stressed that tackling drug misuse is a shared responsibility and called on residents to help break the cycle.
