Police have arrested two men following a serious assault in the Oldpark Avenue area on Monday afternoon. A man in his 30s was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and local residents are encouraged to assist with any information.

A serious incident occurred in our local community on Monday afternoon, April 20, leading to the hospitalisation of a man in his 30s. At approximately 4:50 PM, police received reports of an altercation involving three men on Oldpark Avenue. The victim sustained injuries to his torso consistent with stab wounds and was quickly transported to the hospital. While his injuries are described as serious, they are fortunately not believed to be life-threatening at this time.
Following the incident, two men, aged 65 and 46, were arrested in connection with the assault. They currently remain in police custody as investigations continue. This type of incident is naturally concerning for those of us living in the area, and local authorities are working to establish the full circumstances of what took place.
The PSNI is appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the altercation or who has any information that could help their investigation to come forward.
