Westlink assault after drivers leave their cars at busy junction The incident happened on a Sunday afternoon 14:11, 20 Jul 2026 Two drivers were involved in an altercation at a busy junction on the Westlink earlier this month, police have said. Between 12.30pm and 1pm on Sunday, July 5, it was reported that an assault took place at the busy dual carriageway's junction with York Street. The drivers of a blue Audi and a blue Citroen are said to have exited their cars and been involved in an altercation. Police have issued an appeal on social media for witnesses and anyone with dash-cam footage to get in touch. A PSNI spokesperson said: "Were you travelling along the Westlink, at the junction of York Street, between 12.30pm and 1pm on Sunday, 5th July? "We’re appealing for witnesses and information in relation to an assault which was reported to have taken place when the drivers of a blue Audi and a blue Citroen exited their vehicles and were involved in an altercation on this date.
