Belfast Royal Academy, established in 1785, is the oldest school in Belfast, fostering an inclusive and welcoming culture for all pupils regardless of faith or social background. The school offers an extensive academic programme with 31 subjects available at AS and A2 Level, and in 2023, 82 pupils went on to study at Russell Group Universities. Life at the academy is enriched by a diverse extra-curricular programme featuring 64 different activities, including 12 musical groups and choirs. As one of only seven HMC schools in Northern Ireland, it is recognised for its quality and innovation in education. The school serves pupils from Key Stage 3 to Sixth Form, in addition to its preparatory department, Ben Madigan. It draws a diverse intake from 61 feeder primary schools across greater Belfast and beyond, supported by a strong community of alumni, parents, and staff.
